Description
Fish in the tamarind sauce.
Ingredients | |

1 tsp | Mustard seeds |
1 tsp | Fennel seeds |
3 stks | Curry leaves |
1 no | Tamarind ( pebble size ) |
1 no | Tomato (finely chopped) |
1 tsp | Ginger & garlic paste |
1 no | Medium onion (finely chopped) |
4 tsp | Chilli powder |
1 tsp | Tumeric powder |
1 tsp | Salt |
1 cup | Oil |
1 lb | Fish |
Instructions
Step 1: In the chati pour the oil and then add mustard and fennel seeds let it splutter then add curry leaves.
Step 2: Add onion saute well and then add tomato saute well until it reduces in quanity keep it in medium flame and fry well and finally ginger garlic paste.
Step 3: Add the tamarind extract and add the chilli powder, tumeric powder and salt. Let it boil and reduces in quanity.
Step 4: Finally add the fish pieces. it takes about 5min to 8min for the fish to cook.

hi mullai….i dont eat fish since i am allergic but my hubby loves meen kuzhambu…..and i am not sure what kind of fish to buy for this recipe…can u please let me know and also where to get it…i live in california……
Malathy, this recipe was posted by a member. Anyway, here are some types which would suit this recipe 1. Mackeral 2. Sea Bass 3. Trout 4. Tilapia 5. Pomfret 6. King fish 7. Snapper and 8. Catfish.
