Tapioca Inipu urundai

Description

Tapioca Inipu urundaiTapioca (Maravallikizhangu) is very rich in carbohydrates..this sweet balls r  very good evening snacks..my mom's spl snacks…Easy to do, its a pleasure to taste this tapioca sweetballs.
Ingredients
2 tsp Cardamom powder
1 cup Coconut(grated)
50 g Sugar(decrease r increase as per taste)
2 nos Tapioca (maravallikizhangu)

Instructions

Tapioca Inipu urundai

Take the tapioca n remove the skin until the white layer appears.. cook them well  with salt (as per taste) r a pinch of salt, smash them nicely with ur finger or grate them..Add sugar n 1/2 cup of grated coconut , and also the cardamom powder.

Take a small quantity of smashed tapioca and make them as small balls, roll these balls with a half cup of grated coconut..

Maravallikizhangu Inipu Urundai is ready to eat.. can also chilled them before serves..

    Priya,
    I always have hard time peeling the skin of Tapoica before boiling. Is there an easy way to do it. Or you just scrap it with knife? MAy be I have to use a sharper knife? Please let me know.

      Abhi veggies thol seivurathuku use pannura peeler vachi than am peeling the skin of tapioca..hope it will help u..

    Can we store it for a day or two, in the fridge?

    Priya, how long did u cook the kizhangu. Did u pressure cook ??? most variety which I get takes more time and still look hard. Traditional dishes share panrathuku romba nandri!! Parthavuden veetu knyabagam vanduchu!! Thanks !!

    we usually smash grated coconut, sugar, elam, then tapioca and make balls. :D:D:D we make balls like this with boiled kadalai paruppu, boiled moong dal, boiled chickpeas & boiled rajma :D:D:D

    Nice recipe. We sri lankans also make it….

    Btw, Ppl usually say not to boil maravalli in closed vessels as it release cyanide. Its wise to boil in open vessels. so cyanide can go out.

    Do not use even if it has a small blue spot or slight blue shade as its poisonous. Grand parents advised not to take maravalli & ginger. Its harmful so better avoid it.
