Description
Karunai mochai Kuzhambu is a Delicious tamarind gravy. Karunai and mochai cooked in Tamarind pulp.
It gives a nice Tangy taste. Hope u will like it
Ingredients-1 | |

3 no | Karunai kizhangu |
1 cup | Mochai |
7 no | Small onions |
1 no | Tomato (big) |
10 stks | Curry leaves |

1 tsp | Fenugreek seed |
1 tsp | Mustard |
1 tsp | Urad dal |
Ingredients-3 | |

1 Lemon Sz | Tamarind |
3 T | Gingelly oil |
7 no | Garlic flakes |
2 T | Kuzhambu milagai podi |
Instructions
- Soak Mochai for 7 hrs , then pressure cook and keep aside.
- Now boil karunai kizhnagu, half boiled. Keep it aside.
- Soak tamarind n hot water for 15 mts and extract the pulp.
- Heat Gingelly oil, add mustard,Fenugreek and Urad dhal. Let it splutter well.
- Now add chopped onions fry till it becomes light brown. Add chopped garlic.
- Then add tomatoes. Fry till it is well cooked.
- Now add Karunai kizhangu,add turmeric powder, Kuzhambi milagai podi (or chilly powder,coriander powder).
- Add mochai and tamarind pulp at this stage. let it boil till the tamarind pulp gets well cooked.
- Tangy Kuzhambu is ready
Notes
Coconut is optional. If u want u can add Coconut milk.
The gravy tastes very good even without adding coconut.
