Description
A very popular vegetarian side dish. Goes well with Rotis, Parathas, chapathis, naan.
Ingredients-1 | |
---|---|
1 bunch | Spinach leaves(palak) |
1 tsp | Cumin seeds |
2 nos | Green chilli |
Ingredients-2 | |
---|---|
3 T | Cooking oil |
1 tsp | Cumin seeds |
1 no | Onion (finely chopped) |
1 no | Tomato (finely chopped) |
1 tsp | Red chilli powder |
1 tsp | Salt (as per taste) |
150 g | Paneer (cubed) |
Instructions
Put the Group1 ingredients in boiling water and cook until palak turns tender. Allow it to cool. Drain away the water and put the items in a blender and make into a smooth paste. Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds followed by onion. When onion turns golden brown add tomatoes and red chilli powder and fry until cooked. Now add the palak paste, salt and mix well. Since the palak has already been cooked, you dont have to cook this mixture for long. Add panner cubes and mix well. Serve hot with rotis, chapathis or naan.
Notes
You may also use frozen palak cubes. In that case grind green chillies and cumin seeds together. Keep the palak cubes in microwave for 2 min. Then add them together to the gravy.
