| 1 cup | Whole brown lentils |
| 1 no | Big onion (finely chopped) |
| 1 no | Green chilli |
| 1 drop | Oil |
| 1 cup | Water |
| Salt to taste |

1. Pressure cook all the ingredients for 4 or 5 whistles.
2. Let Cool and Grind to coarse paste.
Notes
1. Soak overnight for easy cooking.
2. Serve with Plain Rice and Ghee.
3. Use the water used for cooking kollu for making kollu rasam.
4. Grind kollu parruppu with very little water.
