Description
Venthayam milagu podi. I got this recipe from Aval vikatan – a Tamil magazine given by Rajam Murali – a beautician. This powder can take everyday with rice to get healthy, soft and shinny hair. It’s mild bitter in taste….so it’s your choice.
Ingredients | |
---|---|
¼ cup | Whole toor dhal(with skin) |
1½ tbsp | Fenugreek seeds |
1 tbsp | Pepper corns |
1 tsp | Asafoetida powder |
Salt(as per taste) |
Instructions
Fry the toor dhal(thuvaram paruppu) in kadai for 5 minutes in medium heat. Then add fenugreek seeds and pepper corns fry in low heat. Fry till the fenugreek seeds are changes into light brown. Switch off and remove from heat. Let it to cool for some time.
Grind roasted toor dhal, fenugreek seeds and pepper corns with salt and asafoetida. Store in airtight container. Have it everyday 1 tsp with rice and ghee to get soft and shiny hair.

Hi kavi, just prepared ur podi, came out superb. But, slightly a bitter taste was there, so i added dessicated coconut to it to reduce the bitterness. But aroma of fenugreek was superb. Thanx for posting dear.
