| 2 cup | Cauliflower florets |
| 3 inch | Cinnamon stick(broken into three pieces) |
| 4 nos | Cloves |
| ½ tsp | Aniseeds (sombu) |
| ½ | Onion ( chopped) |
| 6 nos | Curry leaves |
| 1½ tbsp | Channa dhal(kadalai paruppu) |
| ¾ tsp | Chili lpowder |
| ½ tsp | Corrainder/dhania powder |
| 1½ tbsp | Oil |
| Salt ( as per taste) |
Instructions
Boil 2 cups of water(very hot) add 1 tsp salt and soak the cauliflower florets for 5 minutes.
After heating oil in kadai add cinnamon sticks and cloves. When it starts to pop, reduce the heat into low. Now add channa dhal & when it starts to turn red add onion,curryleaves and aniseeds. Increase the heat to medium. Fry for 2 minutes. Add cauliflower florets without water. Fry the cauliflower for 3 to 4 minutes. Add salt, chilli powder and corriander powder. Mix well everything.
Close kadai with lid. Let it to cook for 5 minutes. Check occasinally. If it sticks on the bottom of the kadai sprinkle very little water. After 5 minutes open the lid and increase the heat to high. Fry the cauliflower till it become brown. It may stick on the bottom…so stay near the stove.
Yummy fry is ready now. Serve with sambar rice, rasam rice,curd rice…etc.,
