Chaat ~ diwali items ~ kadak puri
It is a tasty snack item
| Ingredients | |

| 2 cup | Oil (for deep frying) |
| ¼ cup | Oil (for kneading) |
| 1¼ cup | Water |
| ¼ tsp | Red chili powder |
| 2 tsp | Kasoori methi |
| ½ tsp | Jeera |
| 3 pinch | Asafoetida |
| 5 pinch | Turmeric |
| 1 tsp | Salt |
| 2½ cup | Maida flour |
Instructions
1. In a mixing bowl mix all the dry ingredients well
2.Knead with water. Add water little by little and make a stiff dough
3.Add warm 1/4th cup of oil and knead well
4.Set aside for 30 mins
5.After 30 mins, make about 7-8 balls out of the dough. Roll each ball like a roti ,dusting with a little maida flour to about 1-2mm thickness. Cut it into small discs with help of small cup or cookie cutter.
6.Heat 2 cups of oil for deep frying
7.Fry the small puris over medium-high heat till golden brown. Check a few for crispiness else change the heat settings. Once completely cool the puris should be crisp/kadak
Notes
Puris go well with tea, coffee or other snacks in the evening.
Serve with dips as appetizers
Can be stored for 2-3 or more weeks in an air tight container
May be refrigerated for longer shelf life
