Pav Bhaji

Description

Pav bhaji

Indian style bread dish.Have it as a snack or for dinner.

Ingredients
6 cnt Hamburger bun
2 tbsp Butter
2 nos Potato
1 no Carrot
½ cup Peas
12 cnt Beans
10 cnt Cauliflower florets
1 no Onion
1 no Tomato
1½ tsp Ginger garlic paste
1 no Green chilli
2 tsp Cumin
2 tsp Pav bhaji masala
½ tsp Chilli powder
½ tsp Sugar
2 tsp Lemon juice
4 stks Cilantro
½ cup Water
3 tsp Oil
Salt (as per taste)

Instructions

 Chop the onion ,tomato and green chilli.Chop all the vegetables into 2'' pieces.

Pav bhajiPav bhaji

Heat oil in a pressure cooker.
1)Add cumin and chopped green chilli.
2)After 30 seconds add onion and saute for a minute ,then add gingergarlic paste and fry till  onion turns brown.
3)Now add all the veges.(Potato,carrot, beans,peas,cauliflower),Pav bhaji masala,chilli powder,sugar,salt and 1/2 cup water.
4)Mix it all together and cook the vegetables till 3 whistles.
5)open the lid after the steam is released from the cooker.
6)Add lemon juice and stir.
7)Garnish with  chopped cilantro and a block of butter.

For toast pavs(buns):
 Apply butter and toast pavs till hot and the surface crisp on both sides.
serve hot with bhaji.

Notes

Badsha pav bhaji masala tastes good.

    arent we supposed to use the tomato in the gravy it self…… or just use them for garnishing only?
    i always thought tomatoes were necessary for pav bhaji…

    hi anitha

    U can replace pav bhaji masala by the following
    1 tbsp Corriander pdr
    1 tsp Kasturi methi
    1/2 tsp fennel pdr
    1/2 tsp red chilli pdr
    1/2 tsp dried mango pdr

    *Red chilli pdr can be increased depending on ur spice level

        Anitha, You can use chole/channa masala or 1/2 tsp garam masala(only little amount)….thanks.
