Yoghurt Sponge Cake

Yoghurt Sponge CakeYoghurt Sponge Cake a tea time cake with less fat, no need of butter…very light n flavoursome cake…
Ingredients
3 cup Maida flour/ all purpose flour
2 cup Sugar
1 cup Yoghurt
1 cup Sunflower oil
1 T Vanilla essence
10 g Baking powder
1 pinch Salt
4 nos Eggs

Instructions

Take out the unsweetened yoghurt from the pot…we r going to use the pot to measure the flour,sugar n oil..its a 125g of yoghurt pot..

Take a bowl, add egg , sugar n one pinch of salt n beat them continously until it turns pale yellowish colour..

Now add yoghurt,oil, baking powder n vanilla essence…beat them well too…it will turns the batter slightly liquid..

Now add flour n beat it too…

Grease ur baking pan…Pour the batter n bake it in a oven at 350°F for 25 minutes…insert a tooth pick inside the cake..if its clean put off the oven…cake is done.

Add 100 gm of margarine or butter,50 gms of chocolate powder,50gms of icing sugar in a bowl n beat well..conserve it in fridge for one hr..

Cut ur cake in two pieces..spread the chocolate filling..

Notes

Chocolate filling wasnt must…Can have without..

Apple sponge cake..just add 2 cups of grated apple with the same ingredients.

For sweet free cake..can add sweetner too

can do as marble cake by adding food colours…Butter wasnt important to make cakes now..can do very well with yoghurt n oil…

      Can bake in electic rice cooker but u wont get the same brownish outer cover…using often ur cooker for baking cake, may damage the inner coating of ur cooker…better use oven to bake cake..thanks

    HI! Can you please tell me how much is 1 cup? Usually it is 200 gms but i have seen in some recipies 100gm and some 250gm. If you post it in gms it will be easier for everyone.

      Hi…

      I used the yoghurt pot for measuring the ingredients…1yoghurt pot =125grams…even i showed the picture n  mentioned it…here its 1 cup=125 gms..so 3 cups of flour is roughly 375gms n 2 cups of sugar is roughly 150 grams..thanks for ur suggestion let me post it…
