Ingredients | |
---|---|
1½ cup | Wheat flour |
½ cup | Maida flour |
3½ cup | Sugar |
150 g | Butter/ghee |
10 nos | Cashew nuts |
1 pinch | Salt |
1 tsp | Orange colour powder |
2 tsp | Cardamom powder |
3 cup | Water |
Instructions
Melt butter completely in sim flame, fry cashewnuts and keep away…
Flame should be always in sim…very delicate to make this halwa never put the flame heavy…
Add the wheat flour to the melted butter, stir it well for 5 minutes then add maida with the wheat flour..stir both together for 10 minutes..this will cook the flours..add the colour powder and salt.
Heat 3 cups of water in a pan..add the hot water to the flours n stir it continously..the flour will get their double volume n will be turn as a dough n get off from the bottom of the kadai.
Add sugar n cardamom powder with the dough will give a shiny orange colour halwa..add cashews to the halwa n put off the stove.
Pour this halwa in a plate n cut into pieces…can eat hot else cool it n serve (room temperature). Easy Wheat flour Ashoka Halwa is ready..
Notes
Can also do with greengrams..usual ashoka halwa is basically with green grams..
Can keep in Fridge, but before serve, heat in microwave oven to melt the butter.
Can keep in room temperature for 2 days.
Can also use Vanaspathi instead of butter.
