Description
Made with lentils. Good for kids and adults. Have it for breakfast or dinner or as a evening snack.
Ingredients | |

1 cup | Green gram dhal/paasi paruppu(50 grm) |
½ cup | Gram dhal/kadalai paruppu(25 grm) |
½ cup | Toor dhal(25 grm) |
½ cup | Grated coconut |
3 pinch | Salt |
10 nos | Cashew |
3 nos | Crushed cardamom |
1 tbsp | Ghee |
½ cup | Sugar or as required |
Instructions
Soak the lentils for 1 1/2 hours in water and grind coarsely without water. Or sprinkle little water.
Steam cook the ground lentils in idli pan or pressure pan for 12-15 minutes. Switch off and remove from the pan. Let it to cool down. Meanwhile, heat 1 tbs ghee in a kadai. Add cashews and fry till it turns brown. Switch off the stove and remove kadai from heat. Add coconut and crushed cardamom, fry for few seconds. Then add lentils, 3 pinches salt and sugar. Mix it well without lumps and serve.
Notes
If you don't want sugar you can use jaggery.

Kavi, in the ingredients u didn’t mention the quantity of sugar…Do we need to add 3 pinches of sugar or more sugar ?

Yes Sugan, just mix with dhals. It’s my favorite,pa. Ghee is must for this recipe. It Smells and tastes good with ghee.
Can we just mix jaggery…Kavi?. I was thinking its a lengthy procedure. Looks so easy…and you didn’t mention more of ghee, too. So, very healthy…
