Split red chilli sambar

Easy to make and goes well with spicy dishes.

Ing.

Toor dal-1/2 cup

Onions-1

Tomatoes-1

G.chillies-2

Tamarind pulp-(lemon size)

Curry leaves-4 strands

Coriander leaves-3 tbsps

Split dry red chillies-3

Asafoetida-1/2 tsp

Oil-3 tbsps

Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp

Salt-1/2 tsp or required.

Method

Cook dal in pressure cooker adding onions,tomatoes,g.chillies,turmeric adding 11/2 cups of water.

When done smash the dal and add coriander leaves,curry leaves,tamarind pulp,salt and bring it to boil.

When boiling, temper with mustard seeds,asafoetida and pour over the sambar while boiling.

Serve hot.
