1 cup | Bengal gram |
1 tsp | Fennel seed |
1 inch | Cinnamon |
2 nos | Clove |
2 no | Red chili |

1 no | Cabbage (shredded) |
2 no | G.chilli |
1 no | Onion |
1 tsp | Salt |
1 tsp | Mustard |
1 tsp | Urad dal |
1 tsp | Salt (as per taste) |
Instructions
1. Grind Ingridients from table-1(Bengal gram,cinnamon,clove, Red chillies and fennel) . Dont grind nicely. Grind as you do for making vadai.Soak Bengal gram for an hour before grinding.
2. Now take a pan, place the grinded batter and make it as a adai… as shown in figure
3. Do as you make for adai.. Dont roast much.. make as shown in figure.
4. After doing this, make that adai to cool for some time.
5.After it becomes cool, make it in to small pieces as shown in the Figure.Keep it aside.
6.Now chop onions finely, cut greenchillies length wise.
7. Take a kadai, Heat oil, add mustard & urad dhal.
8.Add onion,greenchillies and curry leaves. Fry till onion becomes Transcluent.
9. Now add finely chopped cabbage, cook till it becomes tender. Then add turmeric powder and salt.
10. When cabbage becomes cooked. Add the powdered pieces now.. cook for 2-3 minutes.
11.Cabbage usiili is ready. Can be taken with rice,puli kulambu, rasam and chapathis.
Notes
Cabbage can be replaced by beans also.
Coconut gratings can also be added.

This is usili prepared in different style. Fat free too. Cabbage usili is new to me and I am really interested to try your style.. Indha WE e try panneetaren.
Cabbage will always be sleeping in my fridge for months so I never get them.. Seems like I have to get this week after seeing your recipe. Thnx for sharing.

why not steaming the batter
you may also steam the batter.. this method is faster than that.. You can get some what crispy one..
