Description
Simple Keral style beef fry made with coconut oil.
Ingredients-1 | |

1 lb | Beef (boneless cut into small pieces) |
¼ cup | Yogurt/curd |
1 tsp | Ginger garlic paste |
4 nos | Mint leaves (chopped) |
¼ tsp | Turmeric powder |
2 tsp | Red chilli powder |
1 tsp | Corrainder/dhania powder |
¼ tsp | Cumin powder |
½ tsp | Salt |

2 nos | Onion (finely chopped) |
10 nos | Curry leaves |
3 stks | Corrainder leaves (chopped for garnishing) |
4 tbsp | Coconut oil |
¼ tsp | Salt (or to taste) |
Instructions
Wash and cut beef into smaller bite size pieces and marinate with all the ingredients from table-1 for atleast half hour to tenderise the meat. Take a shallow pan, heat coconut oil and saute onions till golden brown; add the marinated meat to the onions and keep frying until it turns dark brown. (At this stage it can be pressure cooked with little water if preferred). Once done keep frying until the gravy thickens and becomes dry. Taste for salt and garnish with curry and corrainder leaves.
Notes
Tip: When buying beef, look for tender cut portion or pound and make it into bite size portions ,so that it doesnt have to be pressure cooked.

Hi Mullai,
Can you please post more beef recipes. I used 1mutton recipe of yours and substituted it with beef :)it was good. I only use your website to learn cooking,but only for beef recipes i need to go to other websites, which i dont like to do, cos it always turns out bad. Pls pls pls can u help by posting beef recipes. even recipes without pictures is also ok 🙂
