Raw Banana Fry
Ingredients
Ingredients - to boil
- 10 piece Raw Banana thinly sliced
- 1/4 teaspoon Salt
- 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 2 cups Water
Ingredients - coating and frying
- 1/2 teaspoon Red chilli powder
- 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
- 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper powder
- 1/4 teaspoon Garam masala powder
- 1/4 teaspoon Asafoetida powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1 tablespoon Water
- 3 tablespoo Oil for pan frying
- 5 each Curry leaves chopped
Instructions
- Peel the raw banana skin and slice them about 1/4 inch thickness.
- Boil them in water for 3 minutes along with salt and turmeric powder or until tender but firm.
- Once done, drain all the water and coat the cooked raw banana with turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, black pepper powder, asafoetida, garam masala and salt by sprinkling some water.
- Heat oil in a wide frying pan and place the masala coated slices.Fry them over low medium flame for about 3 minutes on each side or until browned well.
- When done, garnish with chopped curry leaves and switch off!
VAZHAKKAI BHAJJI VAZHAKKAI FRY (WITH GARLIC)
RAW BANANA CUTLET VAZHAKKAI VARUVAL
Peel the raw banana skin and slice them about 1/4 inch thickness and keep them immersed in water to avoid discoloration.
Add turmeric powder and salt to water and bring it to a boil.
Drop them in that boiling water.
Cook the sliced raw banana for 3 minutes or until slightly tender but firm.
To check whether its cooked, just pierce a knife which should go all the way easily .
Immediately drain all the water and coat the cooked raw banana with all the masala powder… turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, asfoetida powder, garam masala powder, salt and water.
Coat masala on all sides and keep them ready.
Heat oil in a wide frying pan and pan fry the pieces for about 3 minutes each side until well browned.
When done, garnish with finely chopped curry leaves and switch off.
