Prawn rice is a simple lunch box recipe which my mom used to prepare during my school days. Why don’t you give it a try !!!
Ingredients-1 | |

1 cup | Prawn/shrimp[cleaned] |
1 tsp | Turmeric powder |
1 tsp | Chilli powder |
1 tsp | Ginger garlic paste |
Salt (as per taste) |
Ingredients-2 | |

2 no | Onion (medium size finely chopped) |
1 T | Ginger (chopped) |
1 T | Garlic (chopped) |
1 no | Green chili (slit open) |
1 tbsp | Turmeric powder |
1 tbsp | Red chili powder |
1 tbsp | Coriander /dhania powder |
1 tsp | Mustard and cumin seeds |
Curry leaves ( little) | |
Coriander leaves | |
Mint leaves | |
Salt (as per taste) | |
1 cup | Boiled rice |
3 tbsp | Oil |
Instructions
Soak the cleaned prawns with ingredients of table 1 for 15 minutes and fry in oil till brown.( I used to fry prawns with little chopped onions). Keep it aside.
Splutter mustard and cumin seeds with oil in a wide pan. Put chopped ginger & garlic and saute. Now add onions, green chillies, curry leaves and cook till translucent. Add turmeric powder, red chilly powder and coriander powder and cook for a minute. Now add fried prawns, boiled rice , salt and mix well. Garnish with coriander and mint leaves.

We normally make with leftover prawn gravy, use to scrape the kadai clean. This seems slightly different than usual. Good post, thanks for sharing.

THIS RECIPE SOUNDS GOOD…INORDER TO SELECT INGREDIENT 2 ALL U HAVE TO DO IS TYPE IN THE CONTENTS OF ING 2 AND NUMBER ALL THE INGREDIENTS AS 2 AND IT WILL SHOW UP AS ING 2..HOPE THIS WOULD HELP U.
