Paruppu Thuvaiyal

Description

Parruppu Thuvaiyal…this dish goes well with Milagu Kuzhambu.One of my favourite side dish with Milagu kuzhambu i should say.This is also my Mom's recipe.Hope u will also enjoy this recipe.

Ingredients
Handfull of toor dal
4 Dry red chillies[adjust as per preference]
Marble size tamarind
Salt as per taste

Instructions

1.Fry all the ingredients except salt and tamarind and grind it coarsely with little water.

Milagu Kuzhambu [My Mom's style]

Paruppu thuvaiyal is reday to be served.Serve it White rice and Milagu kuzhambu.

Notes

U can use little fresh coconut or little onion too.

    paruppu thuvayal is really delicious to eat with idly :-)…when it's made  in a chutney style. It's one of my favorites.

    Sadhana yesterday prepared thuvayal, had with karakuzambu enjoyed it. My MIL adds more karevapillai to the same ingredients and its curryleaves thuvayal. This is the first time made with tuvar dal seeing ur recipe otherwise usually I prepare with chana dal.

    Hi Sadhana,

    Can I dry fry the toor dhal and Red chillies or with Oil? Tamarind also wet(soaked in water) /dry .Thank u ,Have a good one.

      Hi Sudha u have to dry fry everything except tamarind and salt.If u have tamarind paste then add it just to bring the tangy flavour. U dont have to soak the tamarind in water.
