Points to ponder

If kept directly in pressure cooker, milk may curdle.
When placing the vessel inside the pressure cooker see to it the water at the bottom of the cooker does't get inside the vessel.
Narrow vessel may be apt.
Best it done in an electric rice cooker, but it can't be left automatically to swith off.
When the rice gets cooked swith off and do the end process.
Sugar may be reduced according to taste,as adding milkmaid gives sweetness to the payasam.
To make rice rava simply grind hand full of rice in your mixi and fry,no need to wash the grains.
Cooked rice shouldn't be used.

    Hi,

Thank you for the recipe.. I was searching for this.. Once i tried to prepare payasam (with my friend’s Guidence) but something went wrong when we added Vermicelli (Actually we used Vermicelli instead of rava) and the milk got spoiled. I will try this out soon..

      Hi,

The milk you use should contain 6% fat, S.N.F 9% which means fat in it  has not been removed.
