A simple recipe for spicy okra fry.
Ingredients | |

1 tsp | Mustard seeds |
1 tsp | Split black gram |
2 nos | Onion (diced) |
40 nos | Okra (thinly sliced) |
1 tsp | Turmeric powder |
1 tsp | Red chilli powder |
1 tsp | Salt (as per taste) |
1 stks | Curry leaves |
4 tsp | Oil |
Instructions
Wash and pat dry the Okra and cut them into very small thin rings. Dry fry the okra in a pan to remove the stickiness and keep it aside. Now heat 4 tsp of oil in a pan and season with mustard seeds, split black gram and curry leaves. When sizzle stops, saute chopped onions. When it turns slightly brown add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt and the fried okra pieces and cook for 5 minutes. Check for salt and remove them from the pan and serve hot with plain rice and any choice of kuzhambu.
Notes
Dry frying the okra pieces is optional. It just helps to remove the stickiness.

No need Ragavi, just frying the okra alone is enough.
