Mutton Gravy in egg toast

Sunday is always a special day.. usually we do something special on these day,mutton always plays an important role in sunday specials,when i was kid my mom used to do this dish for briyani, thought to do the same n i did mutton gravy n egg toast..we all liked it much, this is one of my mom’s special recipe, would like to share with u all…it may seems quite long to do, but worth to try…can give a trial…
Ingredients-1
4 nos Mutton pieces(big pieces)
2 nos Onions(chopped)
1 nos Tomatoes(chopped)
½ tsp Ginger paste
½ tsp Garlic paste
¼ tsp Cumin seed powder
¼ tsp Fennel seed powder
¼ tsp Garam masala powder
2 stks Cilantro leaves
3 nos Curry leaves
½ tsp Red chilli powder
2 tsp Oil
2 nos Bay leaves, cloves, cinnamom sticks
Salt as per taste
Ingredients-2
2 T Gram flour
2 nos Eggs
Salt as per taste
Oil for frying

Instructions

Heat oil in a pan, add the spices(bayleaves, cloves, cinnamon sticks) n fry them well..once they r fried add the chopped onions, chopped tomates, cook them well, add garlic n ginger paste n stir them until the raw smells goes away..meanwhile pressure cook the mutton pieces with a pinch of turmeric powder until 3 whistles..

Add the cooked mutton pieces to the onion, tomatoes n ginger garlic paste, n stir it well, once they r well mixed add the redchilli powder, fennel seed powder, cumin seed powder, garam masala, salt  n stir it well…add a small cup of water n cook them well until the oil gets separates from the gravy..add the chopped cilantro leaves n curry leaves to the mutton gravy..

Keep the mutton gravy aside n cool it…now beat the eggs with gramflour n salt together until they turns soft…dump the spicy mutton pieces into the beaten egg batter..heat oil in a pan n fry those egg dumped mutton pieces n turn them well both side until they turns slight brownish n crispy..

Crispy, tasty, spicy Mutton gravy in egg toast is ready to serve..serve hot..if u need more spicy can add pepper powder while beating eggs..

Kids will love this, can change usual way of making mutton gravies, who were bored of those mutton gravies can try it out this version..

Notes

Gravy can be dry r little bit watery too…

    Hi Priya,

    i think dis is a Pondicherry speciality as my Hubby’s side prepares dis dish regularly. But i jus dont understand one thing, after frying the mutton pieces leaving it dry & crispy, wot do we do wit d Gravy??
