500 g | Chicken (1/2 kg approx, cut into small pieces) |
1 cup | Mint leaves (chopped) |
3 stks | Coriandre leaves |
5 nos | Greenchillies |
2 cup | Onion ( chopped) |
3 T | Cumin seeds |
3 T | Peppercorns |
2 no | Bay leaf |
5 nos | Cloves |
1 no | Cinnamon stick |
1 no | Star anise |
Salt (as per taste) | |
Oil (for sautering) | |
1 tsp | Turmeric powder |
Instructions
Cut the chicken into small pieces…wash them with turmeric powder n keep apart…
grind mint leaves, coriander leaves,cumin seeds,peppercorns n green chillies together in blender with little quantity of water..
Grind them into thick paste…keep this paste apart…Keep a thick based kadai r pan in stove…add the oil for sautering.. keep heavy flame once oil get heaten add bay leafs,cloves,cinnamon stick n star anise…stir them well n fry…now add chopped onions n stir them well until its turns transparent…add the chicken pieces to the onions.. now add salt as per taste… n turn them continously
Add the mint paste to the chicken pieces…if u need to be more spicy can increase the number of green chillies else peppercorns coz we r nt going to use chillipowder in this dish…stir them well n add some water until its becomes gravy…can be served as gravy or dry mint chicken masala…
Now tasty mint chicken masala is ready..very easy to cook…
Notes
Can add curry leaves too to make more tasty with the mint paste..

I tried this for lunch today, initially I was bit worried about the green color , but eventually it became dark brown color. It made it very dry , I added 1 tsb of G&G paste that’s it in addition to yours. It came out so well. Tried with boneless chicken . Good and different variety.
