100 g | Onion medium ( chopped finely) |
100 g | Tomatoes (chopped) |
1 cup | Coconut (grated) |
5 nos | Greenchillies (finely chopped ) |
3 tbsp | Ginger & garlic (paste) |
2 tbsp | Redchillypowder |
2 tbsp | Coriander /dhania powder |
Spices | |
1 tsp | Turmeric powder |
2 tsp | Sombu/aniseed powder |
Fresh corrainder leaves(finely chopped) | |

Instructions
soak the soya in warm water andsalt for 15 mts.squeeze the water andadd some cold water leave it for 10 mts once more change the water and leave it for 10 mts.then squeeze off the water and cut it into 4.place a cooker on the stove and pour 2 tablle spoons of oil and addthe whole spicespattai ,krambu, and add the cut onions and saute for 5 mts,add tomatoes,chilles,ginger garlic paste and saute for 5mts,add turmeric powder,chilly powder,coriander powder and saute for 5 mts.wash tha kadallai paruppu and addto it,add the soya chunks add enough water,salt and close the lid,keep it for 4 whistles and off the stove.when it is cool open the lid and add the coconut,coriander leaves,fry the saunf dryly,powder them and add to thekootu.enjoy with plain rice,fried rice,pulav or biriyani
