Kothu Kari Kuzhambu

Description

Minced meat cooked in coconut gravy. My favourite breakfast side which goes well with hot idlis , dosai or poori.
Ingredients-1
½ lb Minced meat
2 nos Onion
1 no Tomato
¼ tsp Ginger garlic paste
1 no Green chilli
¼ tsp Turmeric powder
1 tsp Red chilli powder
3 tsp Coriander /dhania powder
1 tsp Salt (or to taste)
5 nos Curry leaves
3 stks Coriander leaves – for garnishing
5 tsp Oil
1 cup Water
Ingredients-2
½ cup Fresh grated coconut
2 tsp Poppy seeds
½ cup Water

Instructions

Wash minced goat meat thoroughly with the help of a double filter,(stainless steel tea filter will do), this will make the cleaning process easy or else wash it and squeeze the water. Grind all ingredients from table-2 coconut, poppy seeds (kasa kasa) and water to a thick paste and keep aside. Heat oil in a pressure pan and temper with curry leaves, fry the chopped onion and green chilli till golden. Add the ginger garlic paste and fry until the raw smell goes away. Now add the minced meat along with chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder and salt. Fry everything for few minutes, when you see the masala slightly sticking to the bottom of pan add a cup of water and pressure cook up to 2 whistles. When the steam comes to a complete stop add the coconut paste(dilute with little water), bring it to boil and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.

      Kaviarun,

Its almost similar to chicken chettinad recipe, except mutton has to be pressure cooked, before you add the masala powder. Follow this link,
