Jeera Vadai

Description

We must have heard sambar vadai,rasam vadai but vadai in jeera is new to all…This recipe is kids favorite …..i have added kalkandu in this…….which gives a sweet taste……..try this sweet….and enjoy…
Ingredients-1
1 cup Urad dhal(ooluntham paruppu)
¼ cup Raw rice (pachai arisi)
½ cup Kalkandu (can increase or decrease)
Salt as required
Oil for deep frying
Ingredients-2
¾ cup Sugar (can increase or decrease depending on your taste).
½ tsp Cardomen powder
10 nos Cashews (fried & keep aside)(garnishing)

Instructions

Soak urad dhal and raw rice in water for more than 1 hour .

Grind it very smooth with out adding water.if needed add very little water.Add kalkandu at the end of grinding.

Add salt while grinding itself so that it mix well.

jeera vadai

For making sugar syrup. In a pan add sugar and little water , stir it well till the sugar gets dissolved, when it starts boiling switch off the flame.

Add the cardomen powder to the syrup and mix well.

Heat oil in a kadai, When the oil is heat enough. make small vadai out the batter.

And add the fried vadais to the sugar syrup.

Garnish and serve with fried cashews.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Notes

When the oil is heat enough add the vadai to the oil. If no the vadai will be oily. We can use only urad dhal for making vadai. Raw rice can be optional.

    Hi Divya, Used to make the the vada as u have mentioned and soak it in coconut milk. will boil the the coconut milk with sugar and caradamom and add fried vadas to it. it used to be very tasty.will try ur version also.

    Kalkandu vada saapitu irruken, but ithu sugar syrupla romba puthusa irruku Divya..really tempting…
