1 bunch | Palak(washed and finely cut) |
1 | Onion ( chopped) |
2 | Tomato (chopped) |
1 | Green chili (slit open optional) |
3 clove | Garlic |
Handfull of moong dal |

1 T | Mustard, fenugreek and cumin seeds |
1 tsp | Hing |
1 stks | Curry leaves |
3 nos | Red chillies (whole) |
1 T | Karuvadagam[optional] |

Water (for pressure cooking) | |
1 T | Tamarid paste |
1 tbsp | Ghee[optional] |
2 T | Oil (for sauting) |
Instructions
1.Take a pressure cooker and add oil in it, add mustard,fenugreek and cumind seeds, then karuvadagam[optional] ,then redchillies ,curry leaves and hing.
2.once when the mustard splatters, add onion, garlic, green chilly[optional] tomatoes and saute them well, now add green leaves and saute it well with some salt.
3.Add moong dal and water[according to the quantity] now and pressure cook the content.
4. once when it is cooked completely add tamarind paste, salt and ghee[optional].and leave it on stove for 5 minutes and garnish with coriander leaves.
Tasty green leaves in dal is now ready to be served.
Notes
1.U can try any kind of green leaf with this recipe.
2.If u want u can add either toor dal or moong dal or combination of both.
3.Adding ghee and karuvadagam gives nice flavour to the recipe.
4. U can also add 1 tsp of sambaar powder to make it taste a bit spicy.
5.Karuvadagam is available in all the South Indian provision store..as far as i know in chennai it is available at Ambica appalam, amudham.
