Instructions
Grind all ingredients from table-2 and keep aside. In a bowl mix all ingredients from table- 3 [except fish]along with the ground masala. Take a large pan, heat oil , splutter mustard , cumin and curry leaves. Add asfoetida powder to it and saute onion until they turn golden. Now add the mixed ground masala and tamarind juice to this and bring it to boil and reduce the flame.
First of all add the fish that has to be fried because when we add the slices of fish to be fried first, they will be cooked and also the tangy flavour will get in to the fish .Once when u think that the fish is almost cooked , take them out carefully as some fish might break if u over cook it. keep them aside. Now add the fish that is meant for curry and close with a lid and cook for 10 minutes on low flame. When oil seperates from the curry turn off the stove…Fish curry is ready now. Now To fry the fish, make a paste with chilly powder, salt and cornflour[Pls note since these fish slices are already cooked , they may have salt …so use salt and chilly powder accordingly] apply this paste on all the fish slices and fry them in oil. This kind of frying will take less time and oil as the fish is already cooked. Moreover the fish will not break while cooking and will look very nice too.
