Crispy Colocaesia

Description

Colocaesia / Chamagadda in telugu / Seppankalangu in tamil is like malabar yam …..it is widely used in india mainly in tamilnadu and kerela. It is used to make avial , kootu and poriyal. kids mostly love this vegetable taste.

Ingredients-1
½ kg Colocaesia yam
¼ tsp Turmeric powder
½ tsp Red chilli powder
tsp Garlic chilli powder
Salt as required
Oil for frying
Ingredients-2
¼ tsp Mustard seeds
¼ tsp Urad dhal

Instructions

Wash colocaesia and boil it with required amount of water till the outer skin can be peeled easily.
Peel the outer skin and cut in small pieces and add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and garlic chilli powder , salt and toss it well and keep aside for 10 min.
Heat oil in a frying pan, splutter mustard seeds and urad dhal.
Add the mass and fry well.
Serve hot as side dish.
(We can deep fry the mass also)

    Thanks for sharing the colocasia picture since I always see this in store and dont buy it since here they have a different name. I will buy this and try ur recipe.
