Easy to do, also a festive recipe..made with channadal n with jaggery this paayasam tastes awesome…can have them as dessert after a lunch r dinner, can prepare within few minutes…give a trial..

| 1 cup | Channa dal( bengal gram) |
| ¾ cup | Jaggery powdered(can decrease r increase) |
| ½ cup | Grated coconut |
| 3 tsp | Ghee |
| 2 tsp | Cardamom powder |
| 10 nos | Cashew nuts (optional) |
| ½ cup | Milk |
Instructions
Pressure cook channa dal upto 3 whistles… heat 1 cup of water, once the water is hot add the jaggery to the water, stir it continously until jaggery gets dissolved, grind the channa dal n 1/4th cup of grated coconut in a blender until soft n fluffy..now add half cup of milk to the jaggery n stir them..heat 3 tsp of ghee n add the cashewnut pieces n roast them until they turn brownish, now add the grounded paste of channa dal n coconut to the jaggery n stir them,bring them to boil n stir them for a while,add the another 1/4 cup of grated coconut, add the roasted cashew nuts with the ghee n add the cardomam powder, stir it..put of the stove.
Serve hot r chilled…

This same dish is traditionally made with Moong dal… too.. That too tastes really good.. very different from the regular kheer.
