Description
Its a combination of bitter gourd ,tamarind juice, jaggery and it will be very good with rice, Chappathi, idli, dosa .Its my mom in laws’s recipe which I am sharing with you friends.

2 no | Bitter gourd |
1 no | Onion |
½ no | Tomato |
¾ cup | Tamarind juice |
1 T | Chilli powder |
1 T | Corainder powder |
1 T | Cumin powder |
1 tsp | Turmeric powder |
1 T | Jaggery powder |
4 no | Coconut pieces |
½ tsp | Mustard seeds |
¼ tsp | Fenugreek leaves |
5 no | Curry leaves |
Salt to taste | |
4 tbsp | Oil |
Instructions
Cut bitter gourd in to round thin pieces. Heat the cooking oil in a deep pan,
on a medium flame till hot. Add the Mustard seeds,curry leaves, fenugreek
seeds, . Fry till spluttering stops. Add finely chopped onions , tomatos ,bittergourd allow it to turn soft. . Add turmeric powder, chilli powder,
coriander powder, Cumin powder and some tamarind juice to the mixture. Make them to boil few mins. Add ground coconut paste and salt . Keep it in a medium flame for 5 mins. Now add some jaggery. cook on low flame till oil ozzes out from the kuzhambu.

i am shiva.i read the bittergourd tamarind kuzhambu.i have few question.u have mentioned 3/4 cup of tamarind,for that can u tell me the right measurement if we use store bought tamarind pulp.and one more is 4no coconut piece,that means i am not able to follow it properly,can u tell me in grams or like half coconut.please respond to me,i would like to try this recipe for the weekend.thanks in advance.

hi Kanchana, sorry i missed that to include in the procedure step. Anyway thanks for reminding that. Once onion and tomato turns soft then u add bitter gourd to that. Deepu
