Beetroot Poriyal

Description

Simple homestyle beetroot fry. Beetroot Curry / Beetroot Fry / Beetroot Porial / Beet Poriyal
Ingredients
2 no Beetroot (small)
1 no Onion (diced)
3 clove Garlic (crushed)
2 tbsp Grated coconut
¼ tsp Salt (or to taste)
2 pinch Turmeric powder
2 pinch Asafoetida powder
¼ tsp Mustard
¼ tsp Split black gram (ullundu)
¼ tsp Cumin seeds
1 no Dry red chili
1 tsp Oil
5 nos Curry leaves

Instructions

Heat oil in a pan, splutter mustard cumin seeds, split black gram, dry red chili and curry leaves. When they stop sizzling add the chopped onion, crushed garlic and saute for few seconds over medium flame. Now add (grated or diced) beetroot along with turmeric, asafoetida and salt. Fry for 2 minutes, add grated coconut and mix. Switch off and serve as a side for rice.

Notes

Coconut is optional.

Serves 2 to 3 people(approx).

This recipe is made with grated beets, diced beet take little longer to cook with few sprinkles of water.

    Hi,I have tried few recipes from this website. But most of them dint work out well. I am now tired of trying from this website.The pictures look very attractive. But the outcome is not what we expect.
