1 tsp | Mustard and cumin seeds |
pinch | Hing |
1 strands | Curry leaves |
1 no | Big size onion (finely chopped) |
1 no | Medium size tomato (chopped) |
1 no | Green chilly[ slit open optional] |
1 tsp | Ginger garlic paste |
pinch | Turmeric powder |
Chilly powder (as per individual’s preference) | |
Salt as required | |
2 nos | Big sized egg plant |
Corriander leaves for garnishing |
Instructions
Step1: Wash the egg plants and poke a knife to the egg plant and show it in the stove as in the below picture, show all the sides of the eggplant and take it off once when it is cooked completely.
Step2:Now bring the egg plant under the tap and peel the skin.After peeling chop the egg plant.It would look like this,
Step3: Take a pan add oil, Mustard,and cumin seeds .Once when mustard splatters add hing and curry leaves.
Step4: Add Onions and saute them well , then ginger garlic paste and green chilly[optional].Once when onion becomes transparent add tomato and saute it with chilly powder, turmeric powder and salt. Leave it for a while.
Step5: Now add the Eggplants to it and mix them well…and allow them to cook for about five minutes and garnish with corriander leaves.
Baingan ka Bhartha is now ready to be served.
Notes
1. U can add both chilly powder and green chilly if u want it to be spicy, or u can use either one of them.
