Description
This delicious and damn healthy adai is my mother’s recipe. She make this in 2 varieties. The one below is the kaaram version and the other a sweet version ( will upload it a lil later)
Ingredients-1 | |
---|---|
500 g | Ragi flour |
3 nos | Onions (big ones chopped) |
5 nos | Green chillies (finely chopped) |
1 cup | Coconut (grated) |
2 cup | Drumstick leaves (chopped) |
Salt to taste | |
Water (approx for mixing) | |
Oil ( as per need) |
Ingredients-2 | |
---|---|
1 tsp | Mustard seeds |
1 tsp | Urad dhal(ooluntham paruppu) |
2 stks | Curry leaves |
Instructions
Take the flour and mix in the chopped onions, green chillies, coconut, drumstick leaves and salt.Temper the items under temper and add this to the flour. Make it into a firm dough using water.Take a round bottom vessel and invert it bottoms up. Layer a damp cloth on it. Take a big lemon size ball of the adai maavu and flatten it like a paratha on the cloth. Take the cloth and invert the adai on a tava. This has to be cooked on a hot tava in medium flame as it cooks rather slowly.
Serve it with a dollop of buter and sauce.
