Namkeen

Description

Namkeen, this snack as  many names like maida cuts, ajwain puri, diamonds….. Its one of the fried snacks which childrens love .It can be prepared and stored ,can be given in lunch boxes, picnics….
Ingredients
1 cup Maida
1 cup Wheat flour
4 T Oil
Salt to taste
Oil (for deep frying)
½ tsp Ajwain
Water

Instructions

Mix both the flour in a large bowl add ajwain, salt and oil mix and then add water to make a smooth dough and keep it aside for 15 min. Then make equal balls of the dough ,roll each ball into a sheet ,then prick it with a fork all over the sheet and cut into diamond shapes and deep fry till crisp. 

Notes

Even it can be made small puris or can be cut with different shape cutters.

This namkeen can be made only with maida flour also

    hi heera,
    sorry I didnt measure while kneading i just simply add little by little when i think it is sufficient i will stop. Anyways take 1 cup water and try to add little by little .

    wheat flour is used to make chappathi, wheat flour is also called flour No.2 .maida or flour no.1 is used to make cakes

    What is the difference betweem maida and wheat flour? We only have wheat flour here which we use to make cakes.
