Palak plantain kootu

Description

We usually buy radish and throw away the leaves… i read somewhere that the leaves have much more nutrient content than radish. So voila thought of something and whipped up this recipe…..
Ingredients
2 Raw banana
1 bunch Radish leaves
1 no Onion medium ( chopped )
1 no Tomato (finely chopped or crushed)
2½ tsp Sambhar powder (store bought gives good color)
Salt to taste
3 tsp Gingelly oil
½ tsp Mustard seeds
½ tsp Haldi
½ tsp Methi seeds
Lemon Sz Tamarind (lime size)(extract the pulp)
1 cup Moong dal cooked

Instructions

Wash keerai thoroughly and chop. Chop raw banana into small pieces. Cook dal till mushy. Take oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, methi seeds, after they crackle, add chopped onion and saute. When light brown add chopped tomato and saute. Add salt, haldi and saute. Add keerai and raw banana, saute.

Add tamarind pulp, sambhar powder and mix well. Cook till done. Add cooked dal and mix well. Let it boil and serve.

 

Notes

Serve hot with rice and aloo fry.

      no dear, it takes the same time as taken by normal palak leaves.
