Tomato Chutney is my utmost favorite of all chutneys! Every family has its own version of making and I enjoy making my mom’s style which is simple to make, includes onion fresh ginger garlic and most of all easy peasy with no grinding involved. Many many lunch box memories pop up, as this used to be packed at least twice a week with either idli or chapati!

hi mullai…i need to pack some chappathis for our weekend outing….i thought to prepare this thokku….can u pls tell me that it’ll be good for 2 days without being refrigerated.pls reply me mullai…..thanks in advance…..
Swathi, this will stay good for 3 to 4 days without refrigeration provided its fried little longer and by using a clean dry spoon every time. When frying the onion, try to brown them by sauteing it for little longer and also at the final stage let the tomato cook fully without any big juicy pieces. Have a great trip. Thanks.
