what is the difference between cooking soda and baking soda

Both cooking soda and baking soda are leavening agents, which means they are added to baked goods before cooking to produce carbon dioxide and which cause them to 'rise'. Baking soda  contains cooking soda, but the two substances are used under different conditions. Cooking soda is pure sodium bicarbonate and Baking soda contains sodium bicarbonate, but it includes the acidifying agent already (cream of tartar), and also a drying agent (usually starch).

hi jayamini, sorry for the late reply…keep little water in the pressure cooker bottem and we can keep the greased date pudding mixture on top of it in a seperate vessal , close the vessal with a lid and close the cooker and steam it.
