venthaya vengaya bhath

Description

thie is rice dish for lunch made with fenugreek seeds which is good for health
Ingredients
1 cup Raw rice
Lemon Sz Tamarind
2 T Thoor dhall
3 nos Red chili
1 tsp Musard seeds
pinch Asafoetida
1 T Red chili powder
1 T Fried fenugreek seeds
1 tsp Dhania powder
2 tsp Jaggery (powdered)
Salt as per taste
2 cup Spring onions
3 tsp Gingelly oil

Instructions

place cooker on the stove andadd the oil,when it is hot add mustard,asafoetida,red chilly and let it splutter,then add the onions and few curry leaves and saute for 2 mts.take 2 cups of water and dissolve the tamarind ,mix well and drain through astrainer and add to the fried ingredients.add a pinch of turmeric powder,chilly powder andpowdered fried fenugreek powder,salt jaggery powder and bring it to boil.wash the rice and add toit.close the lid and after the first whistle put the stove in sim and cook for 10 mts.fried pappads and pottu kadalai thuvayal goes well with this.to make pottu kadalai thuvayal take half cup of pottu kadalai,quater cup coconut and grind it with salt just before finishing add 3 nos of garlic and just crush well and take it off.this must be in a thick consistency.
