5 nos | Potato (boiled and mashed) |
3 nos | Onion (big size)(chopped) |
4 nos | Green chilli (chopped finely) |
2 tsp | Red chili powder |
1 tsp | Turmerc powder |
1 tsp | Pepper & jeera powder |
1 tsp | Aniseed powder |
2½ T | Oil ( as per need) |
Salt to taste |

¼ tsp | Urad dal |
Instructions
Boil the potato and mash it coarsely. Keep aside.
Heat oil in a kadai. Splutter Mustard and urad dhal. Add the onion and green chilli. Fry well till onion turns brown.
Add the red chilli powder, Pepper, jeera and ani seed powder. Add the potatoes.
MIx well and smash well.
Add salt and Mix well again.
Fryand mash till the oil leaves the potato mixture.
Allow the masiyal to fry in low flame. Mix and Fry well every 5 min. Till masiyal becomes crispy.
The Masiyal should be crispy and spicy.
Switch off the flame .
Serve it with sambar rice and even chappathi.

We call this potato podimas back home. This is one of my fav, my mom makes this often and in school lunchbox will be exchanged.. 😉
