KalaKala is a crispy sweet snack mainly prepared during Diwali or Christmas…also known as galagala, sozhi etc..
| Ingredients | |

| 2 cup | Maida |
| 4 tbsp | Rava |
| 10 g | Butter (optional) |
| 1 pinch | Salt |
| 1 cup | Sugar |
| 1 cup | Water |
| 2 drop | Rose essence(optional) |
| Fork |
Instructions
Melt the butter and mix it with maida, rava and salt. Add required amount of water to make a dough and keep it aside for few minutes. Boil water and sugar to make a syrup of single string consistency. Take a marble size of dough, press it on the needles of the fork and flatten it. Roll the dough from back and make a roll.
Finish all the dough by making the rolls.
Heat oil and fry the rolls in medium flame. Remove it from heat before it turns brown and immediately put the rolls in sugar syrup. Transfer the kalakalas to another plate and allow it to cool. Store it in a air tight container.
Notes
To make spicy kalakalas add 2 teaspoons of red chilly powder, omam (optional) and make the dough.
