Yummy Chocolate Cake

Description

This is another cake that i tried using chocolate syrup and maragarine and it turned out to be a hit!!! Actually i bought margarine and chocolate syrup just like that and now i am going for a vacation to india so thought i will finish off all the stuffs that i have at home and tried experimenting chocolate cake with Hersheys chocolate syrup and margarine.So here the recipe is………..

Ingredients
1 lb Margarine or butter
1 cup Cake flour or maidha
1 lb Hersheys chocolate syrup
1 cup Sugar
1 tsp Baking powder
4 Eggs
1 tsp Vanilla essence
pinch Salt

Instructions

Cream butter, sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beat well after each addition. Add chocolate syrup and blend. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Add flour mixture to syrup and blend. Add vanilla essence. Pour into greased pan sprinkled with flour. Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees. If using 8-inch square pan, bake for 35 minutes.

Notes

1. If u r using any other chocolate syrup other than hersheys then reduce or increase the quantity of sugar accordingly.

2.Chocolate cake takes few minutes extra to bake than the normal plain cake that is wat i learnt from my experiment so be patient till it gets baked completely.

    Sadhana, how would the measurement of ingredients change if we want the chocolate flavour to be really mild?

      One of my friend tried the same recipe with a different chocolate syrup which was too sweet than Hersheys, she added 1/2 cup of sugar and the cake came out well…U can also try the same way,,and lemme know how it turned out.

        Hi Sadhana, looking for a sweeter sugar syrup is one option as u said. How abt adding less choc. syrup? What would the measurement for sugar?

          U can try adding less cocolate syrup as well..according to me i have given u the recipes that i have tried .Anyways according to ur question, u can try adding 1/2 cup of sugar and the whole chocolate syrup or half chocolate syrup and 1 cup sugar…Try this way and let me know.

      Usually Chocolate cakes are made with cocoa powder since i had this chocolate syrup i tried this,,donno about choco powder..anyways will try to find out if there are any recipes and will update u..
