Besan Laddu

Simple recipe
Ingredients
4 nos Ghee
2 no Cardamom
6 no Cashew nuts (optional)
1 cup Sugar
1 cup Besan

Instructions

  1. Add enough water to besan to make a thick batter.
  2. In hot oil fry besan(which you make like dough) like jantikallu, untill light golden colour and remove onto paper towel.
  3. When they are cool ,crush them into small pieces and grind into smooth powder.
  4. Now make the sugar syrup. Simmer sugar and water, until it comes to one-string consistency.
  5. When you get to this stage, switchoff and add the powdered janthikalu, ghee, cardamom powder and cashews.
  6. Cover and keep aside until the mixture is easy to handle,then make laddus.

    i dont understand the terms Jantikkalu and pundi…?

    Hi vnv,

    I did’nt understand the first line. i.e) before frying besan we have to add water to make a thick batter and then fry it or fry the besan flour without adding water . please clarify

      first make besan dough with enough water then do like jantikkalu
