Description

Agua Fresco- literally means Fresh Fruit water in Spanish. This simple thirst quencher is a popular fruit drink in Mexico, though the name looks wierd, its nothing but plain watermelon juice.

Watermelon juice / Darboos juice / Sparkling Watermelon / Watermelon Soda / Thirst Quencher / Darboosani Kai

Ingredients
3 cup Watermelon
2 cup Water
2 tbsp Sugar
2 tsp Lime juice
½ cup Ice cubes

Instructions

Cut watermelon into small cubes, removing the seeds and skin. In a blender combine, watermelon pieces, sugar, water and lime juice, blend until smooth. Strain the pulp, if you wish and refridgerate for 30 minutes. Serve it with or without ice cubes.

Notes

Yield: 2 Adult servings.

You may include a pinch of salt if you wish. Make it sparkling by using soda instead of water.

    Hi Mullai,
    I was just browsing ur website and my kid saw this water melon juice…..she made me buy water melon and prepare it for her…..the picture looks sooooo tempting and my kid loved the juice too…Thanks so much….
    Now she’s got her eye on Fish Tikka and Hakka Noodles, will try bothtoday….1 thing i learnt, never open this website with my kid around….she wants everything thats here 🙁

    So the “Aqua” came from spanish? I remember that we used the term “Aqua” in chemistry in some kindda naming… Aqua = Water / Diluted.. cool

    I will not use the lemon, what is the purpose of lemon in this juice

      Amudha, lemon juice is not a must, but helps to balance the acid and sugar level in the fruit juices. Its a natural cleanser with anit-bacterial qualities and antioxidants.
