1 no | G.chilli |
1 slice | Ginger (finely chopped) |

1 no | Tomato (chopped) |
2 nos | Green chili |
1 | Tamarind (lime size) |
3 nos | Garlic |
3 strands | Curry leaves |
3 tsp | Oil |
1 tsp | Fennel seed |
½ tsp | Chiili powder |
1 tsp | Corriander powder |
Salt (as per taste) |
Instructions
Step1. Soak channa dhal for about 1 hour.
step2. grind soaked dhal in to very thick paste(it will really hard to grind but add very little water)
step3. Add salt, onion, greenchilli, ginger, salt and fennel seed
step4. Mix it well and keep it aside.
step5. In a wok add very little oil and fry onion, tomato,garlic and chilli
step6. when it all changes it color keep itaside and let it cool down for 5 mins.
step6. in a mixer grind all the above ingredient and make it in a fine paste.
step7. Now heat kadai, with 3 tsp of oil and when it turn hot add fennel seed and curry leaves when it splutters add the grinded paste along with the tamarind juice,chiili powder and corriander powder.
stpe8. It can be kind of liquid, meanwhile prepare urundai for this delicious kulambu.
step9. with the grinded channal dhal(step2to 4)make some urundai's
step10. Make sure the kulambu is boiling, then now add this urundai
step11. let it cook for 10 mintues.
step12. switch off the stove and garnish it with cliantro.
Notes
it will go fine with rice, dosa, idly and even pongal.
make sure that kulambu is boiling otherwise urundai with get dissolved.
i usually use to mix grinded paste(that is tomato,onion,chilli,garlic) with tamarind juice. it taste really good.
