this is snack item,tasty, very old recipe by my grandma.sure everybody will like it.

1 cup | Raw rice(pachai arisi) |
3 cup | Kadalai parupu |
cup | Split green gram |
6 no | Red chili |
cup | Grated coconut |
2 tsp | Salt |
1 tsp | Mustard seeds |
1 tsp | Urad dhal |
1 pinch | Asafoetida |
2 nos | Green chili |
10 nos | Currry leaves |
Oil (for deep frying) |
Instructions
soak rice,kadalai parupu and split green gram seperately for 2hrs.grind the rice and kadalai paruppu,red chillies and salt together to a coarse consistancy.just before taking off add split gram and just grind for one or two turns and take in avessel.this must be in thick batter.add the coconut,season with mustard,urad dhal asafoetida grcut green chiliies and curry leaves.mix well.heat oil in a kadai and take hand full of batter in your hand flatten in yourhand evenly and put it in oil.fry till golden brown and take it off and place on atissue paper.

oconut chutney goes well with this item.to make coconut chutney, coarsely grind half cup coconut with2 grren chillies and salt.no need for seasoning
