Dal Makhani is a rich dish with full of proteins. But, first time i tasted this in Indian airlines. It was really good. I was trying to make this recipe and finally came out well . This gravy is full of proteins. Black Urad dhal is used in this recipe, that gives a Different taste and adds speciality to this Dish. Hope u will enjoy this Dish.
Ingredients:
Fresh chick peas-1 cup
tamarind extract from 1 nellikai alavu puli-1 cup
sambar onion-1/2 cup
garlic-5 no.
karuvepilai
grated jaggery-1 tablespoon
kuzhambu milagai podi
Method:
cook the fresh chick peas separately in water
drain the water and take only the cooked pea
sputter the vadagam in oil and add karuvepilai,garlic & chopped onoin.Fry it well.
Add kuzhambu milagai podi and fry it
Add tamarind extract and boil it with salt.
This is a traditional dish of my native……With the chick peas we can add a vegetable namely brinjal, pumpkin or chow-chow…etc…any one vegetable will do.I have used brinjal with chickpeas….it is a very tangy recipe….. here we go.
