Spicy Potato Masiyal

Description

Potatoes are the favourite vegetable for all of us.. i like to try many recipe out of potatoes… this masiyal is a simple recipe and it goes well with both rice and chappathi…give a try…:)
Ingredients-1
5 nos Potato (boiled and mashed)
3 nos Onion (big size)(chopped)
4 nos Green chilli (chopped finely)
2 tsp Red chili powder
1 tsp Turmerc powder
1 tsp Pepper & jeera powder
1 tsp Aniseed powder
2½ T Oil ( as per need)
Salt to taste
Ingredients-2
1 tsp Mustard seeds
¼ tsp Urad dal

Instructions

Boil the potato and mash it coarsely. Keep aside.

Heat oil in a kadai. Splutter Mustard and urad dhal. Add the onion and green chilli. Fry well till onion turns brown.

Add the red chilli powder, Pepper, jeera and ani seed powder. Add the potatoes.

MIx well and smash well.

Add salt and Mix well again.

Fryand mash  till the oil leaves the potato mixture.

Allow the masiyal to fry in low flame. Mix and Fry well every 5 min. Till masiyal becomes crispy.

The Masiyal should be crispy and spicy.

Switch off the flame .

Serve it with sambar rice and even chappathi.

Notes

This dish will need more amount of oil…Diet consious person please avoid….. :)…

    Divya,
    We call this potato podimas back home. This is one of my fav, my mom makes this often and in school lunchbox will be exchanged.. 😉

    Hi Divya my mom used to make it..but the non spicy version.. Good attempt!!!
