Soya Cola Urundai

Soyagranules/Soya chunks r the real substitute of meat for vegetarians, they r rich in proteins n replace meat for vegetarian ppls while making dishes, here i tried it out as cola urundai,my experience turned out too good, they r very tasty, crispy as well as spicy…a real feast for vegetarians who were longing to have n cant able to have mutton cola urundais, can prepare this urundais…friends give a trial…
Ingredients-1
1 cup Soya chunks
5 nos Shallots
2 stks Cilantro leaves
3 nos Curry leaves
Ingredients-2
1 tsp Fennel seed
1 tsp Poppy seed
¼ cup Split roasted gram (pottukadalai)
1 tsp Red chilli powder
½ tsp Garam masala powder
2 tsp Corn flour (optional)
Salt as per taste
1 tsp Ginger chopped finely

Instructions

Heat 2 cups of water in a pan, add the soyachunks to the hot water with half a spoon of salt n cook them until they double their volume.. put off the stove, drain the cooked soyachunks in a colander, keep aside..dont squeeze the water..meanwhile chop finely shallots, cilantro leaves as well as curry leaves..dry roast fennel seed n poppy seeds until the poppy seeds pops up, grind both the roasted fennel seed n poppy seed into powder in a blender..grind the split roasted gram into fine powder..grind the cooked soya chunks with the small jar of the blender, until they ressembles like minced meat, this is soya keema r minced soya meat… take a large bowl, add the soya keema, fennel n poppy seed powder, finely chopped shallots, finely chopped cilantro leaves, curry leaves,finely chopped ginger, garam masala powder, red chilli powder n salt as per taste, add corn flour in case if the dough is sticky else omit this..bring everything into a dough.. dont add water, dough shouldnt be sticky, if u take a small ball of dough it should nt stick into ur palms, make entier dough as small golf balls,heat oil in a kadai n deep fry them…oil should be hot while frying..

Serve hot with ketchup, can also be a side for any rice dishes…
