Description:
There’s no need to head to your favorite diner or fast food joint for a smooth, sweet milkshake. This summer, whip up your own frothy, frozen, creamy treats. Spring is here and i see fresh varieties of fruits flocking the market, my local farmers market is over flowing with colorful fruits and I was surprised to see some good mangoes…which are my all time favorite and can never say no.. quickly grabbed a few and head home. These mangoes are from Mexico and are quite good… yeah right, something is better than nothing! They taste ok and but not that sweet compared to Indian Alphonso or Banganaballi and hence extra scoops or ice-cream and sugar! If you are lucky enough to get sweet mangoes then cut down on the sugar and enjoy this great milkshake.
Mango Milkshake / Milkshake / Summer Drinks / Mango Milkshake Recipe / Mango Pulp Milkshake / Fresh mangoes / Ice-cream Milkshake / Mango Mania Milkshake / Mango Smoothie
Ingredients | |
---|---|
Mango (fresh & ripe) | 3 Mangoes (peel & cut) |
Cold Milk (2%) | 2 cups |
Vanilla Ice-cream | 3 scoops |
Sugar | 3 Tablespoon (reduce if the mangoes are sweet) |
Ice cubes | 10 |
Method:
Wash, peel and cut the mango into chunks. Place the mango pieces into a blender / mixie or, if you’re using puree, just pour the puree into the blender. Blend well until the chunks turn into a smooth texture. Now add the sugar and give one pulse to blend with puree, followed by the cold milk. Finally add the ice cubes & ice cream and blend until you achieve the thickness that you want. Pour the mango shake into a glass and serve. Start Sipping!
Notes:
Yield- 3 cups (2-3 adult servings)
Adjust sugar according to the sweetness of the Mangoes. I’ve used Marathon Mangoes which are from Mexico, are great as such but not that sweet compared to Indian Mangoes.
Vanilla ice-cream gives good creamy texture to the milkshake, substitute with frozen plain yogurt to make it healthy.
You can also substitute sugar with honey.
