Karuveppilai thogayal

Description

Highly nutritious especially for people suffering from anaemia. Sufficient to give you your daily dosage of iron.
Ingredients
10 stks Curry leaves
½ cup Coconut (grated)
3 Red chillies (whole)
2 tsp Urad dal
pinch Hing
1 MarbleSz Tamarind
Salt (as per taste)
1 tsp Coconut oil

Instructions

Wash curry leaves. In a pan, pour coconut oil, add red chillies, urad dal and hing. Saute for 2 mins. Add curry leaves and saute for 2 mins. Remove from flame and add grated coconut.

Leave aside to chill.

Put all in a grinder, add salt, tamarind pulp. Grind with little water. Serve with rice and vathal kuzhambu.

      The botanical name for karuvepilai is Murraya koenigi.

    Mom used to torture us to take it every other day… Slightly different… She grinds green chilli, onion, garlic, ginger, pepper & cumin seeds and grind karuvepillai and coconut. We call it karuvepillai Sambol :):):)
